The mission statement says it all: “The future is in smart, electric and autonomous vehicles, and we aim to lead the way.” When a statement like that comes from a company like NIO, which is led by a person like Padmasree Warrior, you simply have to take notice.
We certainly take notice, and you will too, particularly after you’ve had the chance to engage directly with Padmasree Warrior during our next Udacity Talks episode!
RSVP today for Udacity Talks with Padmasree Warrior on Friday, January 27 at 1:30pm PDT!
Padmasree Warrior was Chief Technology and Strategy Officer (CTSO) at Cisco for approximately three years. During that time, Forbes placed her on “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” list not once, but twice. Prior to starting at Cisco in 2008 as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), she was the CTO and Senior Vice President (SVP) at Motorola. Fortune has called her “the woman with the most powerful name in tech.” With a decades-long career at some of the biggest names in the business, she’s earned the accolade. So when she left it all behind to join an electric car startup, the news was … well, electrifying.
Why did she do it?
That’s one of many questions you’ll be able to ask her directly, as we’re very excited to announce that Padmasree Warrior is our next guest on Udacity Talks!
Over 3000 people have applied to our new Artificial Intelligence Nanodegree program since we opened applications on October 25th! So we’re clearly not the only ones excited about AI. Which means we’re not the only ones excited about our next guest for Udacity Talks.
Yann LeCun’s name is virtually synonymous with both artificial intelligence and deep learning, and his role as the Director of AI Research at Facebook makes him arguably one of THE most visible and influential voices in the field. Which is why we’re so thrilled to announce the following:
Yann LeCun will be our Udacity Talks guest on November 1st!
Now that the news is out, we can tell you that the reason we moved Sebastian to the guest chair for Udacity Talks this week is so that we can have him talk about Self-Driving Cars!
RSVP Today for Udacity Talks with Sebastian Thrun! 9/15/2016, 4pm PDT
When Sebastian Thrun leads into a Udacity Talks episode by referring to his guest as having “a life not dissimilar from my own,” it’s safe to assume viewers are in for a fascinating and insightful ride. That’s exactly what viewers of our most recent Udacity Talks episode enjoyed, as Sebastian welcomed Anand Rajaraman to the Udacity Talks soundstage.
Anand Rajaraman has seen the startup world from pretty much every angle, and particularly when it comes to mainstreaming innovative technologies, there are few people with more experience and knowledge. We’re so excited to have him join us for the next episode of Udacity Talks, and we look forward to hearing Sebastian Thrun deliver your questions to Anand throughout the episode!
Anand Rajaraman joins us for Episode 5 of Udacity Talks on Friday, August 26th, at 11AM PDT. RSVP now, and send in your questions via the link in your confirmation email.
Sebastian Thrun introduced him as, “A great artist, a great technologist, and a super creative person.” He then asked him, “Are you a creative, a technologist, a content person, a cook, or a comedian?” To which Eric Darnell responded, “I’ve basically been a content person.”
And that is how Episode 4 of Udacity Talks began!
Returning to the host’s chair was our own Sebastian Thrun, and sitting opposite from him was Eric Darnell, Chief Creative Officer for Baobab Studios. Sitting between them was … a bunny. But not just any bunny. This bunny happens to be the star of “Invasion!,” which is Baobab’s first Virtual Reality release!
