Today we are thrilled to introduce Mahmoud Hassan, a Udacious student from Egypt who has applied knowledge gained from Udacity courses to create a useful and beautiful public transportation app for Egypt. Mahmoud was a student of Sebastian Thrun’s original Introduction to Artificial Intelligence course. Since taking AI, he’s gone on to finish many other classes such as CS101: Building a Search Engine, Web Development and Artificial Intelligence for Robotics.
In 2012, Mahmoud participated in the Vodafone Appstar competition, and applied skills he gained in CS101 by building a transportation and trip advisor app to map out public transportation in Egypt. He went on to take First Place and the grand prize in the local round, as well as 5th place in the international round of the competition.
We want to say congrats to Mahmoud and wish him good luck — he just graduated university with a degree in engineering, and we can’t wait to see what he does next. Mahmoud does say that he wants to continue learning more about computer science, and is considering joining the Masters in Computer Science with Udacity and GeorgiaTech.
Stay Udacious, Mahmoud!
