In keeping with our mission to upskill the workforce of tomorrow, we’re excited to announce that we’re giving early access to our upcoming Data Product Manager Nanodegree program.
In fact, we’re launching the first course called Applying Data Science to Product Management — an in-demand job skill, available for enrollment today at 30% off!
Not only will you receive a certificate for the completion of this course, but all progress in this course will be considered as credit toward the Data Product Manager Nanodegree program — to be launched in August 2020. Additionally, taking this course will unlock 30% off the price of the full Nanodegree.
Use Market Data for Product Development
It’s no secret that a majority of digital products today are designed to be data-oriented. For instance, Uber uses data to calculate surge pricing, and Netflix uses customer data for its personalized recommendation engine.
In most of the digital products, data is used to enhance product lines, better meet customer needs, or make products that customers actually want. Moreover, data that are collected from a product can be fed into machine learning algorithms and used to create a more personalized experience.
These trends all point to an increased need for product managers to be able to capture insights from quantitative and qualitative data to make product decisions and compete in saturated markets.
Get Real-world, Practical Skills to Move Up in Your Career
With this course and Nanodegree program, you’ll be able to fill this necessary role and enter a career that is taking off.
You’ll learn how to apply data science techniques, data engineering processes, and market experimentation tests to deliver customized product experiences. Additionally, you’ll begin by using the power of SQL and Tableau to inform product strategy.
Then, you will develop data pipelines and warehousing strategies that prepare data collected from a product for robust analysis.
Finally, you’ll earn techniques for evaluating the data from live products, including how to design and execute various A/B and multivariate tests to shape the next iteration of a product.
Here’s a deeper dive into what you’ll learn in this course.
About Course 1: Applying Data Science to Product Management
In this course, you’ll understand the role of data product managers within organizations and how they utilize data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to solve problems.
A key responsibility of data product managers is analyzing market data to propose new product opportunities by developing a data-backed product proposal, which will be the focus of the project in the course.
You’ll apply the skills acquired in this course to create the minimum viable product (MVP) launch strategy for the first flying car taxi service, Flyber, in one of the most congested cities in America — New York City.
Your team acquired taxi data for comparable initial analysis. The dataset contains real taxi drop-offs and pick-ups in New York City. First, you will analyze the existing use cases for and identify temporal, behavioral, and spatial trends of ground-based taxis from the dataset.
Next, you’ll deep-dive into user research data, to understand the general sentiment, desire, concerns, and use cases of a flying cab service to prospective customers.
Finally, you’ll synthesize your insights to create a data-backed product proposal that recommends what features the first flying taxi service should have to maximize consumer delight, adoption, and profits.
